Box Build Manufacturing Scope for Quote Review
A box build assembly quote can include the applicable PCBA, mechanical, integration, programming, testing, and final assembly requirements defined in your RFQ package. Relevant manufacturing scope may include:

PCB Fabrication & Assembly: PCB fabrication, component sourcing, and PCB assembly can be included within the applicable turnkey manufacturing scope.

Conformal Coating: Conformal coating can be included where the PCBA requires defined coating material, coverage, keep-out areas, thickness, or other process requirements.

Electro-Mechanical Assembly: PCBA, wiring or cable harnesses, mechanical parts, enclosures, connectors, and user-interface components can be integrated according to the approved assembly data.

System Integration & Prototype Builds: Prototype or trial builds can be used where required to review product integration, mechanical fit, assembly sequence, and defined functional requirements before production.

Testing & Quality Assurance: Programming, functional testing, inspection, and defined reliability or environmental testing can be included when the required procedures, fixtures, test conditions, and acceptance criteria are provided.

The required documentation depends on your project scope; PCBA, programming, testing, conformal coating, and custom mechanical files should be included when those items are part of the requested manufacturing scope.

Box Build Quote and Order Process
After the applicable RFQ files and project requirements are received, the project proceeds through quotation, order confirmation, engineering review, production preparation, assembly and integration, inspection and testing, and shipment.
Step 1: RFQ Review
Submit the Product Survey and applicable product-level, PCBA, mechanical, testing, and quantity requirements for initial technical and sourcing review.
Step 2: Quotation
We prepare the box build assembly quotation and estimated lead time based on the defined manufacturing scope, material and sourcing requirements, quantities, tooling needs, assembly requirements, and applicable testing scope.
Step 3: Order Confirmation & Engineering Review
After order confirmation, the project proceeds to detailed engineering review. Applicable manufacturability, assembly, mechanical integration, testability, and documentation issues are clarified before production preparation.
Step 4: Production Preparation & Tooling
Production data, assembly instructions, fixtures, programming or test tooling, and any required mechanical tooling are prepared according to the approved project scope. Injection molds, die-casting dies, or other custom tooling are included only when required.
Step 5: Box Build Assembly & System Integration
Approved PCBA, mechanical parts, enclosures, cables or harnesses, connectors, and other components are assembled and integrated according to the defined manufacturing and assembly requirements.
Step 6: Quality Control & Testing
Inspection, programming, functional testing, and other defined verification activities are performed according to the agreed procedures and acceptance criteria.
Step 7: Packaging & Delivery
Completed products are packed according to the agreed packing requirements and prepared for shipment to the specified destination.
